South Hadley Fire District No.1
Now accepting applications for Firefighter / Paramedic
Fire District No. 1 is a full service department that provides fire suppression, advanced life support ambulance service, fire inspection, public fire education programs, emergency preparedness, fire investigative services, and a dive team to our community and our surrounding neighbors.
We are a combination department, with 26 full time Firefighters/EMT's, consisting of EMT Basics and Paramedics, along with 20 call Firefighters/EMT-B. We provide service not only to Fire Districts No. 1, but to our neighboring Fire District No. 2 and surrounding cities and towns. We maintain our Headquarters with one (1) Engine, one (1) Tower Ladder, one (1) Quint, three (3) ALS ambulances, one (1) Rescue Truck, and one (1) Brush Truck.
Fire District No.1 is a growing, progressive department that provides a full range of fire-rescue services including fire suppression, paramedic level EMS services, dive team, and hazardous materials response. We also provide a full range of fire prevention services including code compliance, plan review, and public education through our SAFE program. Full time firefighters are union members of South Hadley District 1 Professional Firefighters Association, Local 5048, IAFF / PFFM.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Valid Drivers License
- Certified Massachusetts NREMT Paramedic (or currently enrolled) or MA EMT/Basic.
- FF I/II certification preferred (not required)
