HOBART POLICE DEPARTMENT

NOW HIRING

LATERAL POLICE OFFICER

The Hobart Police Department is now accepting applications for lateral applicants. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be a graduate of Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) Tier 1 or Out of State Equivalent.

Must be at Least 21 years of age and no more 39 years age unless already a member of 1977 Indiana Public Employee Retirement Fund (PERF)

Hold a high school diploma or GED

Be a United States Citizen

Possess a valid driver's license

Have no prior felony convictions

Must be a Certified Officer

SALARY

  • Starting Salary:  $55,000 (2024); $57,750 (2025)
  • Salary after FTO: $68,725 (2024); $72,161 (2025)

  • Administrative Interview  (Week of October 28th)
  • Background Investigation
  • Medical and Psychiatric Evaluation (For non-1977 PERF Members)
  • Acceptance into INPRS 1977 PERF Fund
