General Statement of Job

 Duties include supervising and implementing training for Beach Patrol members. Conducting inspections and operating specialized equipment assigned to Beach Patrol.  Determines and implements appropriate methods during dangerous situations during water rescue incidents.  Coordinating with other agencies when assistance is requested.  Manage timesheets, leave and scheduling of members.


Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of three (3) years of law enforcement experience.
  • No discipline, except for minor traffic crashes, within the previous twelve (12) months.
  • The candidate must be in good physical condition.
  • Must be able to complete the United States Lifesaving Association Aquatic Rescue Response Team (ARRT) certification.
  • ARRT Certification within one (1) year of appointment.
  • Successfully complete the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ARRT Certified
  • EMT Certified

  • Operate specialty equipment to include Boats, Jet Ski and ATVs.
  • Conduct monthly inspections on all specialty equipment.
  • Develop, conduct, and document training with the unit.
  • Be a professional role model for the unit.
