Job Announcement:
FULL-TIME CIVILIAN DISPATCHER
Position is Open Until Filled
Job Responsibilities:
- Answer 911 calls and assess the nature, location and priority of incidents
- Answer routine admin line phone calls to assist the public
- Dispatch Police, Fire, and EMS personnel to incident locations
- Maintain continuous communication with responders to ensure responder and public safety
- Accurately enter, update and retrieve data from various public safety databases to keep and maintain appropriate logs in the department CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch)
- Monitor multiple radio frequencies and coordinate mutual-aid when necessary
Requirements:
- Candidates must be 18 years of age or older
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Undergo an extensive background check
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure with clear communication
- Must be able to work nights, overnights, weekends and holidays
Preferred but not Required:
- NG911, APCO PST 1, EMD CERTIFIED
