SPECIAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER (SLEO) Level II
SLEO II:
If hired by the Borough, Class II officers will have have the same police authority as regular full time police officers. Class II Special Police Officers must have successfully completed all training required by statute at a New Jersey State certified Police Academy. These positions will pay $20-25 an hour for up to 20 hours per week week with flexible scheduling. Additional hours in a civilian capacity may be available in dispatch, records, etc..
Job Requirements:
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Must be a resident of New Jersey and poses a valid NJ Driver’s license
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language well and intelligently and have achieved a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completed all training required by statute at a New Jersey certified police academy *(Preference given to applicants who have attained at least 60 college credits, have an undergraduate degree or have military experience)
- Must be in sound physical condition and capable of performing the physical functions of the duties assigned.
- Be of good moral character
- Must pass a comprehensive background investigation, psychological testing, drug screening through urinalysis and an oral review board.
