Cromwell Police Department:
The Cromwell Police Department is seeking motivated, community-oriented individuals to join our team as Entry-Level Police Officers. This is an excellent opportunity to begin a rewarding career in law enforcement with a professional, progressive agency committed to service and excellence.
Minimum Requirements:
· Valid driver’s license
· Ability to successfully complete a comprehensive hiring process, including:
o CPCA Written Examination
o Oral board interview
o Department-administered physical agility test
o Polygraph examination
o Psychological evaluation
o Medical examination
o Intensive background investigation
Important: The Cromwell Police Department participates in the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association (CPCA) Written Test Program. Only candidates who have taken and passed the CPCA Police Officer Written Examination are eligible to apply.

Salary, Schedule & Benefits:
· Starting salary range: $74,149.58 – $97,841.59.
· Top step salary effective July 1, 2026: $102,321.92.
· Work schedule: 5 days on / 3 days off, providing quality time off.

Selection Process:
The Cromwell Police Department administers its own physical agility examination.
The physical agility test will be conducted approximately one week after successful completion of the oral board interview
