The City of Danbury Police Department will be seeking Entry Level Police Officers.
This mission of the Danbury Police Department is to provide an environment for the people of Danbury that is free from the fear of crime, where people can enjoy a high quality of life and a community that can prosper. The Danbury Police Department is dedicated to delivering the finest community-oriented police services to the people of Danbury. In partnership with the community, we will prevent and deter crime, enforce laws, maintain order and safety and be visible and accessible to all we serve. Police Officers are responsible for the preservation of public peace, the protection of life and property, the prevention of crime and the proper enforcement of all laws and ordinances.
Important Testing Prerequisites:
All applicants will be required to pass the CPCA (Connecticut Police Chiefs' Association) Entry Level Police Officer Examination with a score of 70% or above.
All applicants will be required to have a valid C.H.I.P card in order to submit your application.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid C.H.I.P. card with an expiration after the closing date of this posting
- Passing score on the CT Police Chiefs' Association exam within the past six (6) months
- 21 years of age by the time of interview
- United States Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident
- No Felony, Class A or Class B Misdemeanor convictions
If you do not meet the minimum requirements, your application will not be accepted by the Civil Service Commission nor will you receive a refund of your application fees.
