Town of Harpersville will be receiving applications for a full-time police officer on a continous basis . Preference will be given to an officer that has completed the A.P.O.S.T. training. Salary range will be based upon prior experience. Upon acceptance the applicant must reside within 20 minutes of travel time to police station, within six months of hire.All individual Officers have a vehicle assigned to them at all times. This practice extends the life of the vehicle and increases visibility within the city.
MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS:
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Must be at least 19 years of age or older
- Must have a High School Diplomo or GED
- Must have at least 30 credits from an accredited college or university
- Must have a valid Driver's License
ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT:
Harpersville Police Department is a 17 member department consisting of 6 full time sworn officers and 12 part time officers, 11 reserve officers and on part-time officer. The department polices a town of approximately 1,980 residents and covers an area of approximately 15.9 square miles.Harpersville enjoys one of the highest protection ratios for this size town. Harpersville Police Department maintains a force of two or more officers on duty at all times.
