The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Department of Public Safety offers a distinct, service-centered approach to law enforcement within our 84-acre Academic Medical Center, nestled in the historic Charleston peninsula. Unlike many traditional college campuses, we don't manage dormitories or sports teams;instead, we protect a diverse academic and healthcare community across six medical colleges, from the College of Nursing to the College of Medicine.
Our department provides a unique opportunity for candidates at all stages of their careers—whether you're retired from out-of-state service, transitioning from the military, transferring from a South Carolina certified department, or starting fresh in law enforcement. We prioritize community engagement and relationship-building, ensuring a safe environment where students and healthcare professionals can continue advancing MUSC’s vital mission of education, research, and patient care.
Join us, and you'll be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to meaningful service and personal growth.
