The Southbridge Police Department is an accredited police agency through the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission (MPAC), demonstrating our commitment to professionalism, excellence, and adherence to the highest standards in law enforcement. Our department is authorized for 40 full-time sworn officers, supported by 10 civilian dispatchers, who work collaboratively to ensure public safety and foster strong community relationships. Our department fosters a culture of excellence and continuous learning, providing comprehensive training and development opportunities to ensure the success and growth of our officers. The Southbridge Police Department is a progressive and inclusive environment and its Officers take pride in professionalism, integrity, and community engagement.
Our organization consists of 40 sworn officers 1 Chief, 1 Deputy Chief, 2 Lieutenants, 6 Sergeants, 5 Detectives 25 Patrol Officers, 10 Dispatchers, and 3 civilian personnel. The Southbridge Police Department is a full-service Police Department with specialty assignments in Detectives, Federal and Local Task Force Assignments, CEMLEC K9, SPD Police K9, CEMLEC SWAT, CEMLEC Drone, Bike Patrol, Traffic Enforcement, and more.

About Us
The Town of Southbridge is located in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 17,740 at the 2020 census. Southbridge was incorporated on February 15, 1816. Southbridge is one of fourteen Massachusetts municipalities that have applied for, and been granted, city forms of government but wish to retain "The town of" in their official names.
The Town of Southbridge is located just north of the Connecticut border in the Quinebaug River Valley of south-central Massachusetts. The Town is in close proximity to Routes 90, 20, 84 and 395 with convenient access to Hartford, Springfield, Providence, Boston, and Worcester. Comprised of approximately 21 square miles, Southbridge is an eclectic blend of hilly and flat, farmland and developed land, industry and downtown, and suburban, urban, and rural neighborhoods.
