CLINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT

EMERGENCY TELECOMMUNICATOR

(Part-time Dispatcher)

Salary Grade: $21.87

Position Overview:

The Clinton Police Department is seeking two Part-Time Public Safety Dispatchers to work within the Communications Center to dispatch Police, Fire, and EMS call incidents and to provide EMD services.  One position is to work 2 Evening Shifts per week (1500-2300 hours) and the second position is to work 2 Midnight Shifts per week (2300-0700 hours).  Certified preferred, but not required. 

Essential Job Functions:

• Control phones, radios, dispatch fire, police and EMS
• Call prioritization
• Field questions from general public walking into the lobby
• Handle routing and emergency calls to the Clinton Police Department
• Must be able to work in a fast pace multi-task environment

Requirements:

• Have a high school diploma of G.E.D.
• Have a valid CT driver’s license
• Able to work legally in the United States
• Be able to pass a criminal background check

Other Skills/Abilities:

• Bilingual is a plus
• Previous Emergency Services experience is a plus
